‘Great things often come to those who wait’….. is often quoted, and recently we were delighted that these words rang true as we completed a long-term major tree relocation into John XXIII College on Mooro Drive in Mount Claremont.
The tree in question is a Illawarra Flame Tree (Brachychiton Acerifolius) which is a large tree of the family Malvaceae, also found in the tropical and subtropical regions on the east coast. It is famous for the bright red bell-shaped flowers that often cover the whole tree when it is leafless.
Illawarra Flame Tree Nurtured at our Tree Farm operation
At our Tree Farm operation in the Swan Valley, the tree was nurtured for several years with a watering pruning programme to arrive at a healthy example of the species. We are able to offer high quality trees of various species both for relocation purposes like this, or for ‘supply only’. We also offer ‘grown to order’. More and more Landscape Architects, Local Governments and Commercial clients are turning to us for reliance on quality stock as we continue to expand this part of our service offering.
We’re really pleased with the positive feedback from our client and also from the City Of Nedlands who commented “Students at John XXIII College will be welcomed on campus by a new, mature Illawarra Flame Tree. What’s special about this tree is that it had been stored and cared for by the Arbor Centre for the past 10 years! We’re proud to be the new home for this magnificent tree! A huge thanks goes out to the Arbor Centre team that cared for, transported and planted this tree for our community to enjoy.”
