ArchiTech Connect returned to the event calendar last week with a presentation and Q & A session on “The Changing Face of Resilience in the Landscape – Confident Legacy Planning”
Our Guest Presenters Sue McDougall (Director of the Western Australian Botanic Garden), together with Arbor Centre Head of Consulting Alex Bodenstaff and Managing Director Rob Bodenstaff covered several topics including; how to better integrate good long-term Tree and Horticulture outcomes into early concepts, the increasing significance of bio-security, the optimisation of below ground soil/spaces and effective tree selection and tree retention strategies.
ArchiTech Connect is a series of presentations, Q & A, Networking events, designed to engage with Landscape Architects from across WA. The Arbor Centre initiated this back in 2018 as part of its long standing support of the WA chapter of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (WAILA).
Really strong attendance numbers included representatives from Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Design Consultants, Local Government representatives and University students. Everyone enjoyed the excellent facilities and surroundings of the Kings Park Education Centre, which is nestled within Kings Park and has amazing views out of its huge floor-to-ceiling windows. You really feel that you are a part of nature inside the special event room.
As ever, the evening included an opportunity to put questions to the panel of experts and guests then enjoyed some networking and refreshments to round off what was a successful session.
