Sustainable Suppliers for Public Sector projects | Canopy Coverage | Tree Planting Perth | Environmental services Perth | Tree Services Perth
Head of Sales Chad Thompson and Chief Business Officer Paul Clarke represented the company at the recent Sustainable Suppliers EXPO. This was held at Development WA’s “The Hub”, Bentley Technology Park. The venue is a recently refurbished co-working and event space. It was previously known as the Brodie Hall Function centre.
Over 200 attendees had an opportunity to learn about a wide range of new sustainable products, services and technologies on offer from Perth’s leading recommended suppliers to the Public Sector. Experts from over 30 established businesses were in attendance including ourselves.
The Arbor Centre joined the likes of Midland Brick, Hanson, Fulton Hogan, Downer, Geofabrics and Unipart. We met and chatted to numerous attendees who were all keen to discover current sustainable offerings from a range of construction, electric vehicles, plant, organics, environmental, road construction and transport/logistics experts.
What was the topic of conversation around the Arbor Centre stand?
Attendees wanted to know how we can help to improve canopy coverage for Local Governments and as an integral part of some of Perth’s infrastructure projects…..
We explained that one of the keys to this is to move away from the current model of multiple contract awards for each small portion of a greening project (particularly tree planting projects). This current and common approach produces inflated costs over the medium term. It also carries a heavy admin burden, a lack of accountability, and often yields disappointing results. This in itself is not sustainable.
We engaged in several conversations about our Civic Trees model; a new way to guarantee canopy coverage performance through a complete end-to-end solution. Civic Trees takes care of every aspect of the project lifecycle and offers a guaranteed outcome. We replace any tree failures with like-for-like replacements. Civic Trees includes a minimum 3 years aftercare programme too.
Attendees talked about sustainability from a tree population perspective and from a canopy coverage target perspective. We were able to demonstrate how this can be achieved in a smart way.
In addition, there was considerable interest our our unique Fortress5 service. This helps with the sustainability of infrastructure such as public pathways, cycleways, car parks, shopping villages and much more. Fortress5 protects such infrastructure from tree root damage and comes with a 10 year above ground life span.
We believe that if projects are undertaken with longevity in mind, they are often naturally more sustainable.
