Monitoring & aftercare support commences with the issuing of a site-specific aftercare programme, immediately following a transplant or relocation. This aftercare programme informs the client and supports the subcontractor responsible for carrying out the ongoing maintenance.

Our monitoring of the ongoing health of your tree(s) includes scheduled site visits and ongoing reporting to provide feedback on the status/progress of the tree(s) and any changes in site conditions or circumstances. These reports can contain actions and recommendations for the subcontractor to incorporate into the current programme.

In practical terms, we utilise our knowledge base and experience in transplanting, to identify Tree Performance Indicators (TPI’s), as a part of our monitoring activity. Typically, TPI’s might include its wound occlusion rates, leaf size, foliage colouration, new root extension and occupation rates and the return of typical seasonal growth patterns (phenology). In addition, TPI’s also consider the ongoing performance of site conditions and maintenance activities including watering regimes, water quality, soil and nutrition status, mulching etc., that are the responsibility of the subcontractor engaged to deliver the aftercare.

Delivering our monitoring & aftercare support is integral to the provision of a Free Tree Replacement Guarantee (Terms & Conditions apply). The duration of this guarantee can range from 3 months to 1 or more years, subject to client requirements.

As part of our innovative TPI approach, we are able to utilise specialist technology which enables us to remotely monitor and report back on trees either in remote locations, or for trees of high value or historic significance. This technology is also deployed for periods of time at major construction locations where frequent disruptive activity is likely and therefore requires constant tree monitoring. This benefits our clients through enhanced levels of risk protection and asset management during project execution.

We take a long term interest in the tree(s) that we supply or are entrusted to monitor and this goes beyond any guarantee period. Our primary objective is in supporting the long term intention of providing benefits to the community and the local environment in a timely manner. In this respect, we make ourselves available to be called upon for our expertise to provide specialist support and interventions to manage your tree assets. This might include options such as the timely deconstruction of your tree(s) stability installations, or reviewing and refreshing aftercare programs every 3–5 years
